At it's inception, the ASeSS Qualitative Reference Group was formed under the direction of Lynda Cheshire and Stuart Hungerford) with representatives from the various ASSDA state nodes:-
- Australian Qualitative Archive, the University of Queensland - Lynda Cheshire (Director, AQuA)
- Australian National University - Stuart Hungerford (VO Services Project Manager)
- University of Western Australia - Toby Burrows
- University of Technology, Sydney - Gabrielle Gardiner
- University of Melbourne - Gavan McCarthy (Director, eScholarship Research Centre and Chief Investigator), Professor Julie McLeod (Chief Investigator)
The envisaged specific outputs of the QRG were: interim report of the Qualitative National Consultation Project (UQ); qualitative data/digital objects metadata standards study (UoM); and associated qualitative data training program (ANU and others).
